Committee Rules

We are looking for committee chairs and participants. These are volunteer seats. Each committee is to have no less that 5 participants including the committee manager.

These rules are established in our bylaws starting on page 5, section 3.20.

Standing or Temporary Committees
The Board, by resolution adopted by a majority of the Directors in office, may designate and appoint one or more standing or temporary committees, each of which shall consist of five or more Active Members. No committee shall have the authority to: (a) amend, alter or repeal these Bylaws; (b) elect, appoint or remove any member of any other committee or any Director or officer of the corporation; (c) amend the Articles of Incorporation; (d) adopt a plan of merger or consolidation with another corporation; (e) authorize the sale, lease, or exchange of all or substantially all of the property and assets of the corporation not in the ordinary course of business; (f) authorize the voluntary dissolution of the corporation or revoke proceedings therefor; (g) adopt a plan for the distribution of the assets of the corporation; or (h) amend, alter or repeal any resolution of the Board which by its terms provides that it shall not be amended, altered or repealed by a committee. The designation and appointment of any such committee and the delegation thereto of authority shall not operate to relieve the Board or any individual Director of any responsibility imposed upon it, him or her by law.

Quorum; Manner of Acting
A majority of the number of members composing any committee shall constitute a quorum, and the act of a majority of the members of a committee present at a meeting at which a quorum is present shall be the act of the committee.

Resignation
Any member of any committee may resign at any time by delivering written notice thereof to the President, the Secretary or the chairman of such committee, or by giving oral or written notice at any meeting of such committee. Any such resignation shall take effect at the time specified therein or, if the time is not specified, upon delivery thereof and, unless otherwise specified therein, the acceptance of such resignation shall not be necessary to make it effective.

Removal of Committee Member
The Board, by resolution adopted by a majority of the Directors in office, may remove from office any member of any committee elected or appointed by it.

Committees

Rules not in the bylaws;
Committees are to meet at least once month using our Bigmarker video conference website, these meetings will be open to the public.
Meeting dates and business must be posted on the committees pages.
Committee chairs are to meet together and coordinate shared needs of the committees. Committee chairs are to be present at all regular meetings. Committee chairs are to present committee reports at all regular meetings. Each committee is to have meeting minutes.

Committee chairs and members are to keep a a detailed log of hours; download your log sheet here. Logs are to be emailed to the committee chair on the last day of each month. Volunteer committee members are not exceed 10 hours per week.

Each committee will have a shared email address, each member will have his/her own email address; these email address are for oganizational use ony. Free personal use email addresses will be available upon request.

These committees may also act as members of the Board of Directors pro tem when those seats are vacant.

Finance

This committee will work with the Board Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer to help establish the monthly, quarterly and annual organizational budgets.

Fund Raising

This committee will develop programs to solicit cash and in-kind contributions from individuals and for profit organizations.

Volunteerism

This committee will seek out and arrange volunteer opportunities for active members for Re-Employ Americaas well as with other not for profit organizations benefiting those who are financially disadvantaged.

Events

This committee will develop promotional and community events for national awareness and participation of the organization.

Made in USA

This committee will contact U.S. based manufacturers, corporations and retailers promoting the virtues of “Made in USA” and “Services in USA” through corporate marketing. The committee will also help maintain the “Made in USA” website.

Legislative

This committee will suggest and author letters and petitions to federal and state legislative representatives. Committee members may also suggest, author and or support data acquisition & analisys for studies

Membership

This committee will effort all recruiting for Active Members though active and passive marketing.
